Why Mini-RAE is Integral For Industrial Areas

Industrial areas are bound to have organic or inorganic chemical compounds in the form gases. Such gases can be hazardous for workers working in a confined environment. Mostly, workers in chemical oriented factories, manufacturing industries and mines fall prey of health issues which are at time is life threatening. Usually, the intensity of ill-effect goes high if the volatile organic compounds come across in concentrated form and in confined areas like indoor environment or under the ground in a mine shaft. To combat such situations monitoring toxic effects of the surrounding area is essential and should be strict. This is necessary not just because of the employees’ health concern, but also because of the tough labor regulatory norms and laws.

To detect the signs of hazardous gases Mini-RAE gas detection system has come up as an instant solution which allows user to detect and find the level of harmful gases in particular area. This is an advanced system that successfully detects and analyzes level of all sorts of toxic fumes in a particular zone. As it provides real time data transmission it enables users record the data even when the device is placed 500 feet away from the sensor.

These are easy to operate and has portable feature which allows users to use it by just holding in hand or by placing them anywhere in the specific area to identify the emission of gases. Currently, there are two models in Mini-RAE – Mini-RAE 2000 and 3000, each featuring advance operation than another. Mini-RAE is presently the most feasible, reliable and advance device for toxic gas detection.

Noise levels Technical Measurement

One of the most common instruments at any workplace to measure the noise is Dosimeter. Before you consider buying the instrument, study the environment carefully to know if there is noise in the area under consideration and also the probable reasons for it. You can do a survey to determine if noise is actual issue at the workplace. The following points indicate towards the problem:

1. If an employee wants to talk to another employee but unable to do so at a normal voice rate.
2. If people at the workplace avoid outside gatherings where many voices are present.

It is recommended to measure and control the noise by using appropriate techniques as increased noise can lead to several problems like hearing loss and community annoyance. Hearing loss happens over a period of time and can become permanently incurable. The other issue of annoyance relates to change in physiological behavior pattern.

Noise Dosimeters effectively measures the noise at the places where the level of noise varies throughout the time period. It is a handy device with a microphone attached to it. The threshold, criterion level and exchange rate settings are necessary for operating this device. The dosimeter calculates averages of the information collected in a particular time period. It is important to cover the microphone attached to the device with the help of windshield at places where the air movements are considerable. The manufacturer of the device provides the windshields as well. One should get himself acquainted with the terms commonly used in noise measurement like impact noise to state the results of activity in desirable terms.

What Is The AutoRAE Calibration Station?

When it comes to measuring and warning about the levels of toxic gases in the workplace, the RAE system is one of the leaders in the industry. If you employ the use of RAE devices in your workplace, you may have heard about calibration stations, but do you have any idea what they are and why they’re used?

Essentially, the AutoRAE and AutoRAE Lite calibration stations have been designed to conduct the bump testing, auto-calibration and charging of RAE devices. The stations are suitable for use with QRAE, QRAE Plus, MiniRAE Plus, EntryRAE and MiniRAE 2000 devices.

To use the calibration stations, simply press the button once to perform a bump test and twice to perform a calibration. In a few minutes, the screen will be able to tell you the status of the gas monitor sensors in your workplace. If a monitor fails the bump test, the station will automatically perform a calibration of the system. These stations can complete a full calibration in around 2 minutes.

As a bonus, the AutoRAE and AutoRAE Lite stations are able to store the data supplied by each device, including a data management system that can load calibration data onto an SD memory card. This data can then be transferred to a computer for longer storage.

If your workplace utilizes RAE devices for monitoring the levels of toxic gases and fumes your employees may be exposed to, why not consider investing in an AutoRAE or AutoRAE Lite calibration station? Not only will it make performing routine tests easier, it can charge your devices as you go.

What Is The MiniRAE Lite?

The MiniRAE Lite is from a range of products, including the UltraRAE and MiniRAE 3000, which are designed to monitor volatile organic compounds (VOCs) across various industries. The MiniRAE Lite was originally designed for use in the environmental field, but is also suitable for use in construction, the monitoring of in-house solvents and spill response.

The device has a photo-ionization detector (PID) range of 0 to 5,000 parts per million, as well as the added benefits of in-built humidity and temperature compensation. The MiniRAE Lite, like other MiniRAE devices, has a three second response time – the fastest of any device on the market.

The MiniRAE Lite was designed with portability, reliability and ease of use in mind. It is easy to transport the device from location to location without fear of damage, and it comes with a protective green rubber boot that is easily removable for cleaning.

While it does lack some of the features of the ultra high-tech MiniRAE 3000, such as its inability for data logging or a compound library, the Lite version does share some of its most popular elements, such as the 10.6 eV lamp and the built-in flashlight component.

As the MiniRAE Lite was originally designed for use in environments that are less volatile than others, it is really only useful in gaining an accurate measurement of head space readings in both soil and water. It is not recommended that this device be used in industrial settings where the MiniRAE 3000 would be more appropriate.

So, while the MiniRAE Lite is not as high-tech as the 3000 version, the elements that the two devices share make the Lite version perfectly suited for less volatile settings, such as in the environmental industry.

What is miniRAE 3000?

Today, where industrialization is at its peak the possibility of air pollution is also high. Obviously, increasing factories and manufacturing industries are simplifying our life by introducing several useful products, but it has a side effect too. Gas emitting from factories can imbalance the natural air composition and can make it poisonous too. To deal with such problems, miniRAE 3000 has been introduced.

The MiniRAE 3000 is high tech handheld volatile organic compound (VOC) detector in the market at present. This instrument is equipped with poisonous gas detection feature. It has Photoionization Detector (PID) having extended range of 0 to 15,000 ppm, which makes it a perfect device for industrial hygiene applications like detecting leakage or HazMat.

These are equipped with RF modem that enables user experience real-time data transmissions. It has a base controller which can be installed up to 500 feet or approximately two-miles away from the MiniRAE 3000 detector. As a base station personal computer can be used for a MiniRAE 3000 device. ProRAE Remote is the standard software able of monitor the input of up to 64 remotely-located monitors like MiniRAE 3000, AreaRAE and many other similar devices.

To maintain the hygiene in factories to avoid any health issues of workers, today in many countries government has made use this device mandatory in favor of human rights. The introduction of MiniRAE 3000 as an advance version has controlled the death toll that was quite high few years back due to unexpected poisonous gas leakage in the industries.
